We arrived a few minutes before noon, not realizing they close at noon on Sunday. They were more than gracious in welcoming us and assuring us there was no need to rush. My husband enjoyed his BLT and home fries, while I devoured my bacon and egg breakfast (both which, but the way, were cooked to perfection). As often as we have passed by, this was our first visit, and we certainly will return for more food and friendly atmosphere.
MoreGreat breakfast 👌
Very cool old diner! Good prices, very friendly atmosphere!
Nice people, great food, diner delight.
The place is great. Just like a small mom and pop resteraunt. The food was great and I'll definitely be stopping in again.
MoreSmall quaint restaurant run by a wife and husband.Great atmosphere and friendly faces all around.Good food!
MoreAll fresh food cooked to order exceptional food
Good food. Friendly staff. Brings you back in time. Worth the visit
There used to be a diner near where I worked at Umass. I used to go regularly as the food was good as well as the prices. When I found out they had a prime rib dinner at the Day & Night Diner, I figured I'd give it a try. Wrong decision. I took the dinner to go, and when I got home, opened the styrofoam container to find a thinly sliced piece of prime rim and mashed potatoes (I asked for fries) all covered in gravy. (You don't cover prime rib with any type of gravy!). To top it all off, for this "special", I was charged $16.95. Can you believe it?? And people wonder why places like this (the good ole days) are going out of business.
MoreThe trollies. Love it.
Stopped here for lunch with my sister. Nice Dinner with great food at reasonable prices in downtown Palmer. Only open for breakfast and lunch though.
MoreThe homefries usually make the breakfast for me. And they're good here, it's inexpensive good food. With a very friendly atmosphere from staff and the locals :)
MoreSuch an unsanitary place they dont wash their hands and i was surved a moldy bagel make sure you really look at your food before you eat it
MoreAlways a wonderful time. Go Friday for the best fish and chips! Cheapest Fisherman's Platter. Biggest omlettes around.
MoreThis eating place is heaven on earth! My daughter and I have made this a tradition for spending our time eating a superb breakfast! A must eat place for all but get there early as sears fill up quick.
MoreFriday night Fish and Chips. They have the best seafood and great prices. Friday's only
MoreWas a good place
Good food huge portions great service reasonable prices!! Vintage Diner!
Day and Night is a cozy little diner. Carl, the owner makes fantastic breakfasts. Slow cooked pancakes and specialty homefries are all you can ask for from a diner atmosphere.
MoreDown to earth service, felt like Home.
Was not greeted and sat there for 20 mins and was pasted over for coffee about 3 times. Not one person asked if we needed anything we weren't even asked if we wanted menus. Horrible service!!!!!!
MoreThis is the best diner on Palmer. Great food at a great price. The atmosphere is delightful with a step back in history when "food carts" were the talk of the town. Literally. Originally food carts were horse and buggy drawn. These mobile carts would service towns as an inexpensive way to get meals. I highly suggest this place. Right on the main drag.
MoreGreat food and friendly staff.
I had the fisherman's platter. It was delicious. Excellent value. The breading was crispy and not too thick. I will definitely be back.
MoreWonderful vintage diner setting and great food. Delicious omelets, old fashioned crispy home fries. Great selection of toasts.Traditional comfort food lunch menu. Low prices. Great stop for a special, good old days food treat. thanks
MoreThis place has all the worst symptoms of a townie joint. Was it my imagination, or did I hear faint strains of Dueling Banjos upon seating myself at the counter? Maybe they're just very proud of being in Palmer because it's the sex offender capital of MA (according to Dept. of Corrections statistics). Part of the restaurant business is welcoming customers, even if they're not your cross-eyed cousin. These hash slingers don't have a clue. But I'm a tough customer. I could have endured the clannish, snotty attitude. But spice-free home fries? They can keep it, day and "night" (closing time 2 p.m.)
MoreI love the little train caboose, I like the customers and the owner cooks your food takes a few but we'll worth it.
MorePerfect diner experience. If you need a diner for your movie, use this one. Such friendly owners!
MorePut our order in and food was served to 10 people who came in after us. Cook kept shuffling our ticket around and looked very confused on what to do. Breakfast arrived and both of our meals were absolutely terrible. 1 bite and almost vomited. Dropped a $20 on table and walked out never to return.
MoreIt doesn't matter how good the food is if the waitress won't take your order. It took the tattooed waitress 8 minutes before she would even acknowledge us despite there being merely 5 customers. Including us! And the other 3 were eating. It took her another 6 minutes to get coffee. By that time we had already decided to leave after the coffee. We drove down the road to Jake's and had a nice breakfast. Besides, Jake's was much cleaner and the waitress didn't look like a heroin addict.
MoreLove this place the best breakfast in town
Great food. Friendly and like home
Good people and great food
This is my favorite and only place to eat breakfast in MassachusettsYou are also eating in a real vintage 1920's train dinerThe owner, Carl, makes the best home fries on planet EarthThe only place I can get real scrambled soft loose eggsWatch him drop fresh blueberries into your cooking pancakeAn American Heritage location
MoreThis place was pretty good. I stopped here on my way back from a trip I took to Restful Paws in Holland, MA. I'm a big breakfast food guy so this place was right up my alley! Prices were affordable, pretty good sized portions too. After a long night of traveling, Some delicious pancakes, eggs, scrambled eggs and bacon was just what I needed to feel re-energized for my 5 hours of driving back home.
MoreWent in this morning for the first time ever to get some breakfast, and I absolutely loved it! Cook was very friendly, and the food he made was amazing. Fair prices and great portions. Best breakfast place I’ve ever been to. And to top it off you’re in a cool old train car. We will definitely be back!
MoreGreat place for breakfast. Love the garbage omelette a must try.
